At long last, a proper contour palette! What I nabbed is the Revolution Ultra Cream Contour Palette, seen here:

I think all these shade kind of made me feel like I needed an art degree or something to paint my face. A few makeup tutorials on YouTube cleared that confusion right up.

I like this palette because it gives me options for summer and winter coloring. I don't know about you, but my skin is very different colors at different times of year. In winter I am a total homebody, and my idea of a good time is a mug of tea, a nice fire, and a fascinating book. In spring and summer, it's a very different story. I'm out in my garden every day possible, getting sun, and if possible I'm by a pool. Having this variety of shades means I can use the same palette all year. The formula is creamy and blends very well. Definitely a winning product!

On to eyes. I confess: I got a ton of new makeup this week. There were sales, people! Plus I got moody and took a little trip to Ulta to perk myself up. Hey, it worked! I've played happily with my new acquisitions over the last couple of days, making both dreadful mistakes and happy discoveries. Reminder to self: for goodness sake, stop trying to go bright above the crease! The 80's are long over, baby!

Today I used the Naked Ultraviolet palette (yes, again. I am obsessed with the green shade Lucid!), the Revolution Unicorn Heart palette, and the Revolution Passion For Color palette.

I do use a lot of Revolution products. They're great products, reasonably priced, and tend towards really fun packaging. There's a link below to their website. Any shopping you do through that link will help support this website (and me), so, y'know, have fun.

Anyway, I broke away from my usual eye patterns today to try something different. After priming, I used Urban Decay's Trippin' on the entire lid to create a unified base color. I used Urban Decay's Lucid to make a stripe down the center of my eyelid, from midway above the crease all the way down to the lower lid. On the outer corner, I used #13 from the Revolution Passion For Color palette to do the same thing, and on the inner side used the Unicorn Heart palette's Legend. I then lightly brushed Luck, from the Unicorn Heart palette, from inner to outer, midway above the crease, sort of topping the colors. I wanted to colors to maintain their indivuality, so I barely blended them - just enough to bring harmony to the look. I really debated between black and dark green eyeliner, choosing CoverGirl's Emerald Metallic and doing a small flick at the outer corner. I used a little more of the Lucid on the inner corner, and then my usual touch of Precious Cargo from ColourPop's Mandalorian palette on the inner eye, by the nose. You know, sometimes I skip that signature if the look is great without it, but I always feel like I left something undone without it.

I wanted a heavier mascara than usual, so I used three coats of Thrive Causemetics Liquid Lash Extensions mascara instead of two. Then I ordered more, because I am just plowing through this stuff! I'm also going to need a new dry brush, mine fell apart! Wah!

I hope these breakdowns are giving you some ideas and inspiration. I try to stick to looks I can use everyday (as opposed to a lot of nightclub-level looks I see), but let me know what YOU want to see! I'm here for you.

A new 3 Looks, 1 Palette is coming soon! Thanks for reading, my lovelies!
