I have to stop buying new palettes. (That cheerful sound you hear is the Universe laughing at me!). Seriously, I'm running out of places to store all these goodies! I know, totally first world problems. And really, how am I going to stop when I find looks like this?

At least the eyeshadow was a gift! Actually, the lipstick was free with purchase too, from National Lipstick Day at Ulta. Hmm. What should I do with the savings?

That gorgeous lip color is Chili, by MAC cosmetics. I find it really hard to wear red lipstick, since my complexion is sallow, so I am excited to find this sexy brick red. I topped it with Revolution's Shimmer Bomb gloss in Light Beam. I feel like Light Beam is a must-have (I bought two!). It's a clear gloss with holographic sparkles. Great to put on top of matte colors, so it's like you immediately double your lipstick wardrobe with it.

I did a few new things with my eyes today. You may have noticed, my lovelies, that it's been a couple days since I posted a new look. Yesterday was my birthday, so I was lazing about eating cake, but aside from that, I've been experimenting. Some worked out. Some. . .not so much. One of the things I do like is doing gradient eyeliner. I've done a few looks with a black/ outlining color look before, but this time I tried two shades of teal. I used Nyx EpicWear for both; Intense Teal and Turquoise Storm. You can see it pretty well here:

I used a short, angled brush to lightly blend them after application. I'm excited to try with more colors!

I also and slowly and tentatively venturing into brows. So far, that's mostly just tweezing more than I used to, but I'm also using ColourPop ColourStix in Charmed Life here, to darken and define my brown a bit. At some point soon I'll get an actual brow pen, I promise.

On to eyeshadow application! I am always scouring Pinterest and makeup sites and other blogs for more ideas. This one, I turned up on Pinterest. THIS IS NOT MY ART. If it's your art, and you would prefer I not use it, please do tell me. Anyway, this is the look I went for:

From the Urban Decay Naked Wild West palette: A is Hold 'Em, B is Bud, C is Ghost Town, D is Tex. There is also an E, Spur, which I used for my all-over color.

For primer, I used Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Primer Potion, and for mascara I (as ever) went with Thrive Causemetics Liquid Lash Extensions mascara.

I'm feeling ready for a sassy top hat and some Firefly-style space western adventures!
