With inspiration from an Instagram group that collaborates on makeup looks, a teal/mint/silver colorway became the look for the day. I have to be careful with these colors; used incorrectly, they can make me look a little too much like a frog. Ribbit.

I used the Revolution Midnight Rose palette, and ColourPop's Mint to be and High Tide palettes. For my base color, I went a little darker that usual and chose the shade Crush from the Midnight Rose palette. I hoped the warmer tone would combat that frogginess I worried about. I did my eyelid in sparkly silver Moonlit, from the same palette, and then used Free Floatin' from High Tide to create a horseshoe shape, from the inner eyelid, up and around the crease, and back down to the outer eyelid. For my dark pop color on the outer edge, I chose Urchin from High Tide. I chose Urban Decay's LSD for my eyeliner (only one color? Who am I?) and Thrive Causemetics Liquid Lash Extensions mascara.
When it comes to mascara, I generally use two coats, let it get mostly dry, then comb my lashes to separate them. I also dry brush to remove the unavoidable clumps, and curl.
Back to eyeshadow! Above the crease is where these shades get amphibious on me, so I used Mint to Be's Play It Cool, a grey-green shimmer with a hint of brown in it. I think that did the job! Using Precious Cargo from the Mandalorian palette, I highlighted the inner corner of my eye and under my brow.
A friend suggested to me yesterday that I try drawing in a natural looking brow. I've always resisted doing my brows, since I like them as they are, but I figured I ought to take some constructive criticism. Look at me, growing as a person! I don't actually have any brow-specific makeup (WHAT!?!) so I just swiped on a little bit of Midnight Rose's Wine (strangely, not at all wine colored!). I rather like the results. Not a lot more emphasis, but just a touch.
To balance out all the blue-green, I did use a pinker highlight than usual, from the Sephora Luminizing Palette, along with the darkest color in the same palette to create shadow below my cheekbones, under my jaw, and on the sides of my nose and forehead. Tip: I used to go all the way across my forehead with contour, bit leaving the center light makes my round face look a little longer. I used CoverGirl blush 590 as well, which is a nice rose pink.
On my lips I used Lauren Conrad's She'll lipstick and Moroccan Magic lip balm (I love a shiny lip!).
That's it, my lovelies! I hope you're having a gorgeous long weekend. I may try red, white, and the dreaded blue tomorrow - come back then to see!
